15. Joey Purp & Tokyo Shawn “World Turning” (2013)
This, to me, is like the modern “Po’ Pimp.” The chorus makes it perfect driving music, plus Joey and Shawn’s verses are highly educational survey courses is P-I-M-P-ology. You should hear them lecture it live. Caleb James, by the way, is increasingly one of the most slept on producers right now. This Badu “On and On” sample sounds too fresh with the drums he used. He also took the same Isley Brothers sample Biggie had (“Big Poppa”) in a totally different, energetic direction with Chance’s “Juke Juke.” Plus he produces his own songs? Come on, man. Caleb’s contribution to the SM sound can’t be understated.
