20. Eddie Mon$ta & Kami de Chukwu “Vacation” (2013)

Whatever Thelonious Martin did with the drums here is difficult to place, it’s like they lag just the right amount. It becomes as if the beat is trying to catch up to the vocals. They never do, and the raps are over after only two minutes, having already left the track “vacant, in a state of meditation,” like one sorry victim from the song. This track is more on the sinister side of SM’s catalog, and it’s no surprise that Earl Sweatshirt’s “Chum” is listed as “Related” on SoundCloud. The fact that the same crew that made this song also made the completely non-sinister song “Family” is significant. Seems like they’ve got something for everyone.
