7. King Louie – Drilluminati 2
2013 has been a crazy 365 days for King Louie. He was back and forth from Paris working on Yeezus for the early part of the year, and then delivered the experimental Jeep Music in July. On Jeep Music, Louie played with some new ideas and concepts, some of which the public might not’ve been ready for (a lot of people loved it, however).
To follow up the project, Louie decided to get back to basics and come back harder and stronger with Drilluminati 2 — the sequel to the 2012 fan favorite. This mixtape is a very late entry as we’ve only had a few days to sit with it, so it’s hard to tell if the tape will rise or lower in the rankings in time. But upon early listens this project delivers exactly what we want from Lou.
