FSD Feature: The 50 Greatest No ID Beats

Posted on November 19, 2013 by FSD Staff

39. Drake “Find Your Love” (2010)

Drake is an enigma. We all know this to be true. And he smacked the world upside the face when he dropped his So Far Gone mixtape in 2009. It literally caught everyone by surprise. Shortly thereafter, he became the hottest thing in the industry, with everything and everybody clamoring to work with him. So it’s safe to say he had his pick of the litter when he broke ground on his official Cash Money debut, Thank Me Later, in 2010. He enlisted Kanye and No ID to give him a big first single, and they did so with “Find Your Love.” The production was an extension of the sound No ID and Kanye perfected on 808s & Heartbreaks, and Drake continued to push it forward on “Find Your Love.” The track was more of a ballad than a rap song, and it totally predicted the trajectory of Drake’s career.

Crazy how No ID seemes to just stay so synonymous in his production with Hip-Hop regardless of the style and changes of mainstream music.
