FSD Feature: The 50 Greatest No ID Beats

Posted on November 19, 2013 by FSD Staff

34. Common f/ Nas “Ghetto Dreams” (2011)

It was teetering on 15 long years since Common and No ID had worked together. But in 2011, our dreams were finally realized with “Ghetto Dreams” — the debut release from their reunion album, The Dreamer, The Believer. And as an added bonus, Chi-Town’s Nas snagged a feature from the actual Nas, giving hip-hoppers something to believe in in 2011.

The album was a solid outing, but this joint in particular gave listeners a shot of nostalgia, and proved that even after a 15 year break, the chemistry will always be there for Common and No ID — it has always worked, and it always will.

Crazy how No ID seemes to just stay so synonymous in his production with Hip-Hop regardless of the style and changes of mainstream music.
