6. Beanie Sigel “Man’s World” (2001)
We’ll continue to argue that Beanie’s The Reason was The Blueprint before The Blueprint was The Blueprint. Make sense? The sound Jay would go on to perfect and that helped shape Roc-A-Fella’s early-00s sound was born on this album, with a bulk of the production handled by Kanye and Just Blaze. But arguably the creator of this sound was Kanye’s mentor, No ID, who taught the producer how to cut and chop these rare soul samples. The proof is on “Man’s World,” which was an impeccable flip of the James Brown classic. A sound was perfected and birthed right here.

Crazy how No ID seemes to just stay so synonymous in his production with Hip-Hop regardless of the style and changes of mainstream music.
