FSD Feature: The 50 Greatest No ID Beats

Posted on November 19, 2013 by FSD Staff

18. Jay-Z f/ Kanye West & Rihanna “Run This Town” (2009)

You know this record. Hell, the entire world knows this record. Jay Z introduced us to the Blueprint 3 with the grimy, hip-hop slapper “D.O.A.,” which was produced by No ID. But while No ID gave Jay some credibility with the traditionalists, he also had something in the chamber for the pop charts and that was “Run This Town.” As we all know, the song became a smash, reaching number two on the Billboard Hot 100, and scoring all involved two Grammy’s. That’s how you run a town — and a globe.

Crazy how No ID seemes to just stay so synonymous in his production with Hip-Hop regardless of the style and changes of mainstream music.
