4. Common “Resurrection” (1994)
Many cite Resurrection as Common’s greatest masterpiece. The highlight and magnum opus of his career. Whether you agree or agree to disagree, one thing isn’t debatable: No ID is the backbone of the project. Having produced all but two of the 15 tracks on Resurrection, the producer formerly known as Immenslope was truly the architect of the project. And how do you kick off a project of such magnitude? Well, Com’s brain trust concluded that it would be the title track, which creatively flipped the Ahmad Jamal Trio’s “Dolphin Dance.” How No ID picked that sample is one of the greatest feats in all of hip-hop history.

Crazy how No ID seemes to just stay so synonymous in his production with Hip-Hop regardless of the style and changes of mainstream music.
