37. Mikkey Halsted f/ Freddie Gibbs & BJ The Chicago Kid “Field Nigga Blues” (2010)
In late 2010, Mikkey Halsted and Freddie Gibbs were two of the hottest unsigned dudes in the region. Point blank period. Mikkey was about to roll out his album before the album, Dark Room, which featured some very big records with his mentor and long-time producer, No ID. The barebones “Field Nigga Blues,” however, was like a throwback to yesteryear, which featured an all-star cast. No ID played maestro while Mikkey, Freddie and BJ The Chicago Kid connected to make this statement piece happen. It was a powerful song — end of story.

Crazy how No ID seemes to just stay so synonymous in his production with Hip-Hop regardless of the style and changes of mainstream music.
