FSD Feature: The 50 Greatest No ID Beats

Posted on November 19, 2013 by FSD Staff

15. Twista f/ Kanye West “Alright” (2009)

Kanye and Twista have chemistry. This is fact. Their work together in the year 2004 is the stuff of legend. It gave Twista the biggest sales and accolades of his career, and helped push Kanye into the mainstream, giving the rapper his first number one hit. A small amount of great work came from these two and then they just stopped working.

Even more surprising, is even though No ID and Twista had known each other for years, they’d never worked together. It’s hard to believe these two pioneers had never stepped in the booth to craft music. Well, all of that changed in 2009, when Twista got back with Kanye West and worked with No ID for the first time on “Alright” — the amazing bonus cut from Twista’s Category F5. Unfortunately, the track wasn’t finished in time to make the album, but this bonus track will go down as one of the best tracks in T’s catalog.

Crazy how No ID seemes to just stay so synonymous in his production with Hip-Hop regardless of the style and changes of mainstream music.
