FSD Feature: The 50 Greatest No ID Beats

Posted on November 19, 2013 by FSD Staff

8. Usher f/ Alicia Keys “My Boo” (2004)

Although only credited as having “worked” on this record, it’s clear No ID’s influence and fingerprints are all over “My Boo.” It was a new age duet, that was a beautifully crafted and reminiscent of the classic duets R&B singers blessed us with in the 60s, 70s and 80s. It featured the two absolute biggest things in R&B at the time: Usher and Alicia Keys, and stood firmly at the number one position on the Billboard Hot 100 for six weeks. The record was so big that Usher was forced to re-release his Confessions album, as the single helped push the album over the 10 million mark to diamond certification.

Crazy how No ID seemes to just stay so synonymous in his production with Hip-Hop regardless of the style and changes of mainstream music.
